Fintech Portal Prototype

Fund manager onboarding portal

Open the working prototype

Context
A fund data platform partnering with a global investment bank to give hedge fund managers a self-service portal: onboarding, compliance sign-off and keeping their fund data current.

The decision
Would managers actually complete a compliance-gated onboarding and maintain their own performance data — or would the workflow quietly route around the portal back to email?

What was prototyped
Twelve screens of the journey as working software: SSO and login, a checklist-driven dashboard, a three-step onboarding with legal affirmations and a “send a signing link” escape hatch, firm and fund profiles with jurisdiction rules, per-fund editing with real validation states, monthly performance updates that flip funds to pending confirmation, and a notification layer that clears itself as the underlying work completes.

What it demonstrates
Multi-step compliance flows that stay humane; form validation as designed states rather than afterthoughts; how far a prototype can go in proving a workflow (state persists, notifications resolve, editing round-trips) before a line of production code exists.

Reconstructed from client work using synthetic data.
